5.0 out of 5 stars UNSTOPPABLE LOVE, NON-STOP SUSPENSE Once again

UNSTOPPABLE LOVE, NON-STOP SUSPENSE
Once again, Lorraine Nelson, one of today’s best new authors, has created a series that reflects her trademark gifts for writing romantic suspense set against an intriguing backdrop—this time a working horse ranch in the Canadian west—and filled with engrossing dialogue and characters so unforgettable you’ll quickly forget you’re reading fiction.
The titles in this series—one book for each of the triplet brothers—skillfully and memorably champion the theme that families are at their best when they stick together and that families—and love—are forever. And no one has more opportunities to overcome obstacles than these three, who were separated shortly before their teens and sent to different foster homes. A quirk of fate reunites the three with the challenge of a lifetime—move immediately to a faraway place, bring a large spread from the red into the black within a year and, oh yes, raise the two-year-old stepbrother you’ve never heard about until today. Too easy, if you’re one of the Hudson brothers!
The fast-paced plot has the warmth of a Julie Garwood novel, as Nelson deftly shows her similar talent for creating and portraying family members who take whatever gets carried their way with humor, love and a dose of feistiness. The women they fall in love with join the battle to save the ranch from those who would deny the Hudsons their inheritance. Suspects abound, and the ending will leave you cheering to see the bad guys caught—but wishing the series would never end.
An added bonus is the original hand-drawn cover art that graces each title in the series, illustrations done by Sharon Wilson-Dupuis, Nelson’s sister.
5 stars, Julie's Book Reviews, March 9, 2014
The Hudson Ranch was run by by Zachary Hudson and his wife with their toddler son. Zachery has always wanted to get back in contact with his estranged triplet sons. When he is diagnosed with a tumor he knows time is up. On his way to find the first son there is a accident that leaves the toddler an orphan. In his will Zachary left the ranch to his 4 children as long as they stayed and tried to run the ranch.
Running the ranch has not been uneventful. Gabriel is opening up a vet clinic on the ranch to help make ends meet. A successful vet back home, he wants a practice again. He places an ad for help for the clinic. Kristen responds. She was wonderful qualifications and just wants a chance to prove herself. She applies as a man to get an interview. Gabriel is reluctant to hire the young attractive women but decides to give her a chance. The trouble continues on the ranch and someone is out to disrupt everything. The danger escalates and lives are in danger. The danger is blamed on the new hire, Kristen is put in the spotlight. Was she the one to cause so much trouble? What will it do to a blossoming attraction? And if it is not her, then who is endangering the family?
This series is a great love story/mystery with some action thrown in. The Hudson family is easy to fall in love with and I can't wait for the next book. Thanks for the great read Lorraine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gabriel January 8, 2014 By Colfel Format:Kindle Edition
This story is a continuation of the Hudson Ranch series. The saga continues with the triplets living and working the ranch for their inheritance. The characters are all well developed and the story line is fantastic. There are so many things happening and not enough clues to find the culprit. Although the brothers are constantly on guard, they keep a good attitude and continue with keeping family first. There are some spelling/grammatical errors in book two and three but not enough to take away from the story. I love this series and can't wait for the next book.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gabriel Hudson River Ranch November 30, 2013 By Frances Lucero Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great romance plus an on going mystery that has you really wondering who is the bad guy. Kristin is a real strong heroine and Gabriel is really swoon worthy. I love all three brothers. Can't wait for book three to find out who is doing this and for Nate to find his love.

Gabriel (The Hudson Ranch Series)
Author: Lorraine Nelson
Length: 161 pages
Genres: Romantic Suspense

Kristin (Kris) has just finished vet school and has wanted to specialize in large animals her entire life. Because she's a woman, however, she's been unable thus far to land a job. Gabriel, along with the other two of the Hudson identical triplet trio, inherited a ranch and baby brother from his long-estranged father, but since inheriting, the ranch has been plagued by someone who clearly wants Gabriel and his brothers out. Gabriel's in the process of starting up a farm-animal-oriented vet clinic and gets an emailed resume from out of the blue.
This was the third book in the Hudson Ranch series. You don't need to read the other books before it in the series as this one stands alone, at least in respect to the romance part of the book. The issue with the ranch...ehhh, I'm iffy on that part.
I liked Kris's determination not to let her gender stop her from the job of her dreams. She knew what she wanted and went after it, even if she had to lie (I fail to see how using her initials in anyway comprises a lie, and feel that Gabriel way over reacted when he found out KB was a man but that snit didn't last long).
Gabriel - gotta love a guy who's willing to fire the woman he loves to protect her. Once the pair got over a certain trust issue (more on that later), these two started moving forward very quickly toward finding love. They made a charming couple and I was definitely rooting for them.
So if I seem to like the book so much, why only 3 stars? Here's why:
Bad events keep plaguing the ranch throughout the book and if you're looking for a resolution to that issue, it will not be found in this book. I mention this issue only because I fully expected a resolution and didn't even get a partial resolution of the issue. I expected some part of the overall plot to be resolved. Think Empire Strikes Back - there's definitely some closure, and sense of the characters moving forward even though Han is encased in carbonite. This book just blam - ends. No warning.
A few other issues - I found Kris's age to be a little unbelievable, given the schooling that would be required. Of course, it could be totally different in Canada, but you need a 4-year degree before you can get into Vet School here in the US, yet Kris was only 21 and fully graduated and an animal doctor.
There was the issue that led to the trust issues that got resolved with absolutely no hint as to who the guilty party might be. It seemed like a completely random event (the whole subplot) and I don't understand why it was necessary.
Finally, Gabriel gets a major injury that requires surgery. He's let out of the hospital with very specific instructions to be on strict bedrest for 5 days. The following day (unless I missed a reference to "several days later"), Kris and Gabriel's own brother were talking about letting him be in the vet clinic, though he could relax on a couch if he needed to. That is not bedrest.
Despite those issues, I did like this book and I will probably track down the others. It's a quick, easy read and enjoyable. Ms. Nelson has a nice writing style to her work and I'm glad to keep reading her books.
Thanks to the author for sending this to review!
